Daniel Nava: Red Sox Nation Always Will Hold Special Place In My Heart

The Boston Red Sox took a chance on Daniel Nava. He’ll never forget that.

Nava, once cut by his college team and his independent league team, joined the Red Sox organization in 2008 as an unknown outfielder. He soon became a valuable contributor, treating Boston to several memorable moments and helping the franchise win an improbable World Series title in 2013.

Nava joined the Tampa Bay Rays this week after being designated for assignment last week by the Red Sox. The 32-year-old still took time to show appreciation for his former organization, though.

Nava sent the following tweets Thursday night, thanking both the Red Sox and their fans.
