Goalkeeper Martin Hansen Scores Vs. PSV With Unreal Back-Heel Goal (Video)

Soccer season is on in Europe, and so are great goals from goalkeepers. Wait, what?

Martin Hansen, goalkeeper for Dutch club Ado Den Haag, scored perhaps the finest goal in the opening round of action in Europe’s major leagues Tuesday. Hansen used a back-heel flick to tie his team’s Eredivisie (Dutch first division) opener against defending champion PSV.

Hansen only was in position to score because his team was trailing in the 96th minute. Hansen joined his outfield teammates in PSV’s third of the field for a free kick. What he did next to tie the score at 2 defies logic and at least one law of physics.

After the game, Hansen succinctly explained how he managed to score such a goal.

Some are calling Hansen’s goal the greatest ever scored by a goalkeeper. He certainly has stated his case for the honor.
