Hanley Ramirez Out, Rusney Castillo Batting Fifth For Red Sox Vs. Marlins

Hanley Ramirez won’t get a chance to play against his former team this time around.

The usual Boston Red Sox left fielder, who has been out since Aug. 8 with a foot injury, is absent from Boston’s lineup once again for Wednesday’s series finale against the Miami Marlins at Marlins Park.

The Sox will roll out the same eight position players as they did in Tuesday’s loss, with David Ortiz getting the start at first base. Mookie Betts also is in the lineup for the second consecutive night after missing the previous 11 games with a concussion.

Manager John Farrell has made a few tweaks to the lineup’s order, however, bumping Pablo Sandoval down to sixth while sliding Rusney Castillo into the five hole. Blake Swihart will bat seventh and catch for Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez, who is seeking his seventh win of the season after taking the loss in his last outing against the New York Yankees.

Since Boston is playing a National League club, Rodriguez will bat ninth and get the chance for his first career major league at-bat.
