It has been a stunning start to the new season for Liverpool. The Reds have won two and drawn one of their first three Premier League games without conceding a goal, and some of the club’s youngest players have been at the heart of that success.

Jordon Ibe and Joe Gomez have both featured heavily thus far, while Jordan Rossiter made his Premier League debut during Monday evening’s goal-less draw with Arsenal, coming on to replace Lucas Leiva in the second-half.

Rossiter’s performances so far this year, both for the first-team and for the Under-21s, having already earned him a call-up to the England Under-19 squad, alongside teammate Sheyi Ojo, who is currently away impressing on loan at Championship side Wolves.

All of this makes the recent successes at Anfield all the more exciting, with those on Merseyside knowing that there are plenty of young players on the books who are ready to carry the club forward for years to come.

Liverpool have always had a rich tradition of promoting from within and producing some of the most talented young English players around, so it’s pleasing to see that such an important element is being well maintained by both Brendan Rodgers and his talented coaching team.

With this in mind, please enjoy our list of five talented teenage players:

Joe Gomez
The young defender has been a revelation. After signing from Championship side Charlton earlier this summer, the 18-year-old has not only started the last three games at left-back, but he’s quickly become one of the most notable players this season.

Jordon Ibe
It seems incredible to believe that Ibe doesn’t turn 20 until December. It’s equally hard to believe that he started last season on loan at Derby County. The youngster has since become an integral part of Brendan Rodgers’ first-team squad, adding pace and width.
