You’d be hard-pressed to find any player who has done more in one game than Madison Bumgarner did Sunday.

The San Francisco Giants ace turned in one of the best single-game performances you’ll ever see as the Giants completed a sweep of the Washington Nationals. Not only did Bumgarner dominate on the mound, he also helped himself at the plate.

The big left-hander racked up his league-leading 14th win of the season and dropped his ERA below 3.00 with a shutout on the bump. Bumgarner went the distance, allowing just three hits and a walk while tying a season-high with 14 strikeouts.

Quietly, Bumgarner has positioned himself as one of the National League Cy Young contenders, thanks to a particularly dominant August, allowing just two earned runs over three starts while striking out 35 in 25 1/3 innings.

Like we said, Bumgarner also did it at the dish Sunday. The 2014 World Series hero flexed his muscles with his 10th career home run. The blast was his fourth of the season, and he now has an impressive .763 OPS. He also hit a double.
