Mookie Betts appears to have shaken off the affereffects of his tumble into Fenway Park’s home bullpen two weeks ago.

The Boston Red Sox center fielder went 2-for-4 with a home run Sunday in a one-game rehab assignment with the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs.

Betts, who had not played since suffering a concussion July 28, is expected to rejoin the big club Tuesday in Miami.

“Mookie had a good day (Sunday),” Red Sox manager John Farrell told reporters after Sunday’s 7-2 win over the Detroit Tigers. “We know he’s cleared, he’ll be back to us. But what we’ll look to do in center field still remains to be seen. I think it’s fair to say that I’ve got to sit and talk with both (Betts and Jackie Bradley Jr.) as we go forward. But most importantly, Mookie is cleared, and a good outing (Sunday) with no ill effects coming out of the game.”

Bradley, who has started in center for the Red Sox during Betts’ absence, had the best game of his career Sunday in Detroit, going 2-for-3 with a walk, a triple, a home run and a career-high five RBIs. He also continued his strong defensive play by making a superb over-the-shoulder catch on a Jefry Marte fly ball in the fourth inning.

Despite Betts’ contributions, the Sea Dogs fell to the Akron RubberDucks 10-3.
