Fair or not, LeBron James is constantly being compared to NBA legends from other eras.
And while James most commonly draws comparisons to Michael Jordan, the topic recently was Larry Bird.
Former Indiana Pacers great Reggie Miller appeared on “The Dan Patrick Show” on Friday and was asked about the Bird vs. James debate. And it’s safe to say Boston Celtics fans will enjoy his answer.
You heard that correctly. If Miller had to choose either Bird or James at their peaks in today’s game, he would take Larry Legend.
“I gotta go with Larry Joe,” Miller said to Patrick. “In today’s rules, you can’t touch him.”
When Miller heard Bird’s stats at 30 years old, it made his answer that much easier.
“Larry Joe for the win,” Miller said.
Sure, it’s only a hypothetical answer to a hypothetical question, but it’s one Celtics fans can take pride in.
