A cyclist is lucky he’s not dealing with life-threatening injuries after a pretty horrific crash over the weekend.

Matt Brammeier suffered pelvis, ribs and lung injuries after crashing into a car at full speed Saturday during the Tour of Utah, according to CyclingNews.com. Brammeier came around a sharp turn at the bottom of the hill too quickly and ended up slamming into a car that was riding along the road.

See the crash in the video below. Obviously, we’d warn against watching the video if you get upset by seeing cyclists crash into things at full speed.

“Thankfully, Matt has suffered no head, neck or spinal injuries and is currently stable in hospital,” Brammeier’s team doctor said in a statement, per CyclingNews.com. “His musculoskeletal injuries are significant, however. He suffered rib fractures on both sides as well as a small pneumothorax. He also has fractures of the sacral and pelvic bones. Matt is unlikely to require surgery but will need some time to recover from his injuries.”
