Seth Griffith won’t be on the ice for a while.

The Boston Bruins announced Monday that Griffith has a sprained MCL in his left knee, and is expected to miss three to four weeks. Griffith left Sunday’s preseason opener against the New Jersey Devils in the second quarter after colliding with Devils winger Tuomo Ruutu.

Griffith had skated with Alexander Khokhlachev and Jake DeBrusk in the game. He tallied 10 points (six goals, four assists) in 30 games last season.

If the current timetable holds up, that puts Griffith on pace to return two weeks into the regular season.
