The second half of the Boston Red Sox’s season has been all about the youth, and Monday night belonged to Deven Marrero.

The infielder started at third base for the Red Sox in their series opener against the New York Yankees, and he was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts heading into the ninth inning. But in his final at-bat, Marrero launched his first major league home run into the first row of the right-field stands to put the Red Sox up 5-1 in their win.
