Fantasy Football QB Rankings: Tom Brady Leads Cream Of Week 3 Crop

It’s only Week 3, and our quarterback rankings look very different from our preseason rankings. Andrew Luck has fallen out of the top 10 because of poor play, while Tony Romo and Drew Brees failed to make the list because of injuries.

So who made the cut? Check out this week’s quarterback rankings below.

1. Tom Brady, New England Patriots
Week 3 Opponent: Jacksonville Jaguars
2015 Stats: 754 yards, 7 TDs, 0 INT

Brady is on pace to surpass his 2007 passing stats, included his then-record-setting 50 touchdown passes. He’s the No. 1 fantasy quarterback and has a favorable matchup against a mediocre Jaguars defense.

2. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
Week 3 Opponent: Kansas City Chiefs
2015 Stats: 438 yards, 5 TDs, 0 INT

Rodgers hasn’t racked up a ton of yards, but he does have five touchdowns and a pretty good matchup against a Chiefs defense that ranks 23rd in passing yards allowed.

3. Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers
Week 3 Opponent: New Orleans Saints
2015 Stats: 370 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs

Newton was unstoppable through the air and ground last week, and we can expect more of the same against an awful Saints defense. New Orleans has given up four touchdowns and a 119 passer rating through two games.

4. Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks
Week 3 Opponent: Chicago Bears
2015 Stats: 457 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs

Wilson has been an above-average passer this season, but he has made plays in the running game, too, with 109 yards through two weeks. He should be even more effective through the air versus a Chicago defense that has allowed a league-high seven passing touchdowns.

5. Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 3 Opponent: St. Louis Rams
2015 Stats: 720 yards, 4 TDs, 1 INTs

The Steelers’ high-powered offense has so many weapons, and arguably its best player, running back Le’Veon Bell, will make his season debut in Week 3 after serving his two-game suspension. Roethlisberger’s production already has been superb, and it will improve even more with a high-quality pass-catcher in Bell back in the lineup.

6. Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos
Week 3 Opponent: Detroit Lions
2015 Stats: 431 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs

Manning gave a bounce-back performance in a Week 2 win over the Chiefs, and he should continue to be productive against a Lions defense that ranks 23rd in passing yards allowed.

7. Marcus Mariota, Tennessee Titans
Week 3 Opponent: Indianapolis Colts
2015 Stats: 466 yards, 6 TDs, 0 INTs

The Colts’ defense has only one sack, one interception, rookies at multiple positions and injuries hurting its depth. It’s a banged-up unit, and Mariota has shown an impressive ability to protect the football with six touchdowns and zero interceptions.

8. Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
Week 3 Opponent: Dallas Cowboys
2015 Stats: 661 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs

Ryan has a difficult matchup against a Cowboys defense that has played very well so far. However, Ryan has the third-most passing yards in the league, and his chemistry with elite wide receiver Julio Jones is as good as it’s ever been.

9. Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers
Week 3 Opponent: Arizona Cardinals
2015 Stats: 500 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs

Kaepernick is picking up valuable fantasy points on the ground with 92 yards on 16 carries. He’s also coming off a fantastic Week 2 performance in which he threw for 336 yards and two touchdowns against the Steelers. A lot of those yards were in garbage time, and the same scenario could present itself again because the Cardinals should have no problem beating the 49ers this week.

10. Blake Bortles, Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 3 Opponent: New England Patriots
2015 Stats: 456 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs

Bortles was OK in a Week 2 win over the Miami Dolphins with 230 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions. He has a solid matchup in Week 3 against a Patriots defense that ranks 22nd in passing yards allowed. The Patriots likely will be winning the entire game, forcing Bortles and the Jaguars to throw early and often.
