FOXBORO, Mass. — The mysterious case of Ryan Wendell’s health continued Wednesday when the New England Patriots offensive lineman remained out of practice.

Wendell was limited in practice last Wednesday with an “illness” before being absent Thursday and Friday. Wendell was ruled out of Sunday’s game early, but he appeared in the locker room Monday.

Wendell was the lone Patriots player absent at practice. Defensive tackle Dominique Easley returned to practice Friday and was out on the practice field again Wednesday. He originally was listed as doubtful for Week 2 with a hip injury before being downgraded to out Saturday.

Patriots offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer had his hand wrapped after suffering a finger injury against the Buffalo Bills. Cornerback Tarell Brown, who also was banged up Sunday, participated in practice, as well.
