Report: Randy Moss Has Not Received Or Made Calls About NFL Comeback

Randy Moss still hasn’t ruled out an NFL return. But it also doesn’t sound like the seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver is ready to hit the comeback trail anytime soon.

A source with knowledge of the situation told ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio that Moss has not attempted to find a job with an NFL team. Likewise, no teams reportedly have inquired about Moss’ services.

This isn’t too surprising given that Moss hasn’t caught a pass since the 2012 season with the San Francisco 49ers. The 38-year-old hasn’t made a major impact since catching 83 passes for 1,264 yards and 13 touchdowns with the New England Patriots during the 2009 campaign.

But, as Florio notes, multiple young receivers who worked out with Moss over the offseason have raved about his skills. So as injuries begin to pile up this NFL season, it’s reasonable to wonder whether a team with a depleted receiving corps will consider giving Moss a call to check on his availability.

Then again, Moss seems to be coming into his own as a TV personality. Maybe him teasing an NFL return in recent weeks is nothing more than that: a tease.
