The Boston College Eagles will look to end a three-game straight-up losing skid and pick up their first conference win of the season when they visit the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday as 7 1/2-point betting underdogs at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Eagles dropped to 0-4 straight up against Atlantic Coast Conference rivals last weekend with a 34-17 loss to Clemson but picked up their third win against the spread this year by covering as 18 1/2-point underdogs.

With the loss, Boston College now is winless SU in its last three road contests entering Saturday afternoon’s Eagles vs. Cardinals betting matchup at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

Despite their struggle to pick up road victories, the Eagles have consistently rewarded bettors in contests away from Alumni Stadium, going 6-1 against the spread in their last seven, according to the OddsShark College Football Database.

Boston College’s limited success this season largely has been built on a stingy defense, which ranks first in the nation, allowing an average of just 196 total yards and 11 points per game. But the Eagles were solved last weekend by Clemson, which became the first team to score more than 14 points against them this season.

The Eagles now face a 2-4 Louisville squad that has struggled to put points on the board, averaging just 17 points per contest in its last three against Football Bowl Subdivision opponents. The Cardinals suffered a 41-21 beating in a visit to Florida State last weekend, failing to cover as 6 1/2-point underdogs to end a three-game ATS win streak.

Louisville picked up a win over Boston College last season, notching a 38-19 victory as a three-point road favorite, in the first meeting between the teams since 1998. However, it has been a disappointing year for the Cardinals, who recorded nine wins in their inaugural ACC campaign last year but could put their bowl game aspirations in peril with a SU loss to the Eagles.

In other ACC action, No. 6 Clemson will look to make up lost ground in the Associated Press Top 25 rankings when it visits the Miami Hurricanes as a 7 1/2-point betting favorite, while No. 9 Florida State visits the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets as 6 1/2-point chalk.

The Virginia Tech Hokies host No. 23 Duke as three-point favorites, No. 25 Pittsburgh takes on the Syracuse Orange as seven-point chalk, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons host the North Carolina State Wolfpack as 9 1/2-point underdogs, and the North Carolina Tar Heels battle the Virginia Cavaliers as big 18-point chalk.
