Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw was going toe-to-toe with New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom during Game 1 of the teams’ National League Division Series on Friday, but that all changed when Daniel Murphy stepped into the batter’s box in the fourth inning.
The Mets second baseman absolutely crushed a home run to right field off Kershaw, giving the Mets a one-run lead at the time.

Just how hard did Murphy hit the ball? Hard enough that the name engraved on his bat literally left a mark on the ball.
New York tacked on two more runs in the seventh inning and held on for a 3-1 win to take a one-game series lead.
