Ronda Rousey is the best women’s fighter in the world today — and probably ever. She has torn through the UFC with a 12-0 record, after winning world championships and Olympic medals in judo.

But a boxer she is not, which is why fans of the seemingly forgotten American sport are up in arms over Rousey being on “The Ring” magazine cover for the January 2016 issue.

The self-proclaimed “Bible of Boxing,” The Ring has been in publication since 1922. Rousey will be just the second female to grace its cover but the first MMA fighter smiling back from newsstands when the issue hits shelves in November.

As one Facebook commenter noted: “Just in ‘Next month Kanye West will be on the cover of the Ring'”

We’re going to let you finish, Facebook commenter, but Rousey is the greatest female fighter of all time. And considering how easy UFC is becoming for Rousey, we wouldn’t be shocked to see her taking a shot in the sacred ring some time in the future, as the cover story suggests.

It’s not the first time Rousey has made magazine waves: Earlier this month, she became the first woman on the cover of “Men’s Fitness” in Australia.

Rousey has taken over. It’s time to get used to it.
