The Chicago Cubs’ quest to end the “Curse of the Billy Goat” didn’t get off to a good start in Game 1 of the National League Division Series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Jon Lester pitched well, but Chicago’s offense didn’t give him much help against John Lackey in a 4-0 loss. Now it’s up to Cubs right-hander Kyle Hendricks to even the series in Game 2 on Saturday. The Cardinals will counter with left-hander Jaime Garcia.
