MONTREAL — Canadiens goaltender Carey Price will be out at least a week with a lower body injury.

Canadiens coach Michel Therrien said Price suffered the injury during Montreal’s 4-3 loss in Edmonton on Thursday.

The Canadiens start a four-game homestand Sunday against the Winnipeg Jets.

Price is 7-2 with a 2.01 goals against average this season for Montreal, which leads the Eastern Conference. He won the Hart Trophy last season as the regular-season MVP and the Vezina Trophy as the best goalie.

Rookie Mike Condon will make his second consecutive start for the Canadiens, and Dustin Tokarski was recalled from St. John’s of the American Hockey League to be the backup.

Condon is 3-0 with a 1.67 GAA and a .944 save percentage. He was in net for Montreal in Friday night’s 6-2 win in Calgary.

“(Condon) has a lot of pressure on him, but he’s been flawless in every start so far,” Therrien said.
