Dynamo Dresden fans made news around the world Saturday when they unfurled a mega-banner (or “tifo) before its 3. Liga (German third division) win over 1.FC Magdeburg at the 32,066-seat Stadion Dresden. German newspaper Bild said the banner was the largest in European soccer history.

The, which covered the entire stadium reads “The legend of Elbflorenz” (“The legend of Florence of the North” in English), which is the city of Dresden’s nickname.

The Dynamo Dresden tifo reportedly is around 450 meters (492 yards) in length, and required 70 kilometer (43.5 miles) worth of yarn to make. Fans also needed over two years and €25,000 ($27,500) to produce the remarkable sight.
