Tom Brady’s sleep schedule isn’t etched in stone.
Brady revealed last year that he goes to bed very early, as the New England Patriots quarterback typically is up very early for meetings, practice, etc. It sounds like Brady’s schedule sometimes varies, though. His wife, Gisele Bundchen, told Patriots owner Robert Kraft that she recently woke up and discovered Brady studying game film at 3:30 a.m., according to The Washington Post’s Sally Jenkins.
Jenkins’ revelation last week was part of an extensive piece detailing Brady’s work ethic and competitive fire, with an emphasis on his mindset in the wake of Deflategate. Brady looks like a man on a mission this season, though putting in extra work — sometimes at odd hours — is nothing new for No. 12.
According to Jenkins, former Patriots vice president of player personnel Scott Pioli used to receive phone calls from stadium security guards during Brady’s rookie season because the QB would try to get into the building to do extra work in the middle of the night. Pioli reportedly drove over to check on the matter one time, only to find Brady’s car in the parking lot at 1 a.m.
All said, it isn’t too surprising to hear about Brady going above and beyond for the sake of performing better on the gridiron. But let’s be honest, he’s a good-looking dude. He must make up that beauty sleep somewhere along the line, no?
