Before Rex Ryan got a little testy with the New England media during a conference call Thursday, the Buffalo Bills coach was brutally honest about his team’s chances of winning the AFC East.

“(The New England Patriots are) going to win the division,” Ryan said during his press conference Thursday, via Syracuse.com. “I don’t see them losing four games. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see that happening.”

Well, that’s probably not the answer you were expecting. However, he does make a valid point. The Patriots are undefeated at 9-0, and while the Bills are in playoff contention, the division appears out of reach with their 5-4 record. It would remain unlikely even if Buffalo beats New England in the teams’ Week 11 “Monday Night Football” matchup.

“No, I’m just telling you the facts,” Ryan said. “The only thing I’m focusing on is beating them right now on Monday night. We’re not conceding that, I can promise you.”

The Bills would sneak into the playoffs as the No. 6 seed if the season ended today, but there are five teams within one game of them for the final AFC wild-card spot. So Buffalo still has plenty to play for, minus the AFC East, of course.
