The haircut place Great Clips owes Adam from Alameda something big.
Adam is a Golden State Warriors fan, you see. On Tuesday night during the Warriors’ game with the Los Angeles Lakers, Adam was tabbed to do one of those in-game shooting contests.
Adam had 45 seconds to make three shots — a layup, a free throw and a jumper from just inside the 3-point line. The prizes? Free haircuts.
Despite the pressure of free haircuts from a chain hair cuttery resting on his shoulders, Adam performed like another great Golden State sharp-shooter, Stephen Curry. Adam made all three shots with plenty of time to spare, sending the Oracle Arena crowd into a frenzy and presumably into a rush to schedule their next ears lowering.
But the best part might have been Adam’s celebration. He ran around like a crazy person to celebrate — ironically, he appears to be bald — and the celebration included some Grade-A taunting of the Lakers, including a throat slash at the Lakers players, which maybe was just a tribute to “Sweeney Todd,” given the circumstances.
All in all, it’s pretty much the greatest commercial Great Clips could ever ask for.
Oh, it’s probably worth noting that the Clippers beat the Lakers by 34 points to break the NBA’s record for most consecutive wins to start a season. Small detail.
