Zac Rinaldo will be on the shelf for a while.

The Boston Bruins placed the 25-year-old on injured reserve Tuesday with an “upper body injury,” according to a team release. Rinaldo fought Edmonton Oilers forward Matt Hendricks on Monday during Boston’s 3-2 overtime loss. It’s unclear whether Rinaldo was injured during the scrap.

In 26 games for Boston this season, Rinaldo has tallied one goal, one assist and 53 penalty minutes.
