Brandon Prust will pay the price for his dirty play on Boston Bruins winger Brad Marchand.

The Vancouver Canucks forward has been fined $5,000 for spearing Marchand in a rather painful location Saturday, the NHL’s department of player safety announced Sunday.

The Bruins were putting the finishing touches on a 4-0 win over Vancouver at Rogers Arena when Prust skated over to Marchand and inexplicably slashed him in the groin with his stick. Marchand stayed on the ice for several minutes, while Prust was given a 10-minute misconduct and ejected from the game.

This isn’t the first time Prust has heard from the league office. The former Montreal Canadien was suspended two games during the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs for a late hit on New York Rangers forward Derek Stepan.
