Celtics-Cavaliers Odds: Boston Home Underdog In Meeting With Cleveland
The Boston Celtics will kick off a stretch of three games in four nights Tuesday when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers as two-point home betting underdogs at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Boston’s strong play has earned it seven straight-up wins in its past 10 outings, and it also rides a 6-0-1 against-the-spread run into Tuesday night’s Cavaliers vs. Celtics betting matchup at TD Garden, including outright wins in two of its last four as betting underdogs.
The Celtics’ most recent upset victory came Saturday, when they knocked off the Charlotte Hornets by a 98-93 margin, paying off as three-point road underdogs in their third victory in four games last week.
Boston last faced the Cavaliers in the opening round of last season’s NBA playoffs, falling in four games but covering the spread in the final three games of the series to improve to 7-2 ATS in its past nine against the Cavaliers.
The club also took two of three from the Cavaliers during the regular season last year, picking up a pair of victories in the final week of the campaign to secure a playoff berth, including a 117-78 home win over Cleveland’s second-stringers in the season finale.
The Cavaliers arrive in town riding a two-game SU win streak that has kept them perched atop the Eastern Conference standings. However, Cleveland has been a major betting disappointment this season, covering in just two of its last eight to fall to 8-14 ATS overall according to the OddsShark NBA Database.
Following Tuesday’s matchup, the Celtics travel to Detroit on Wednesday to take on the Pistons before returning home for a date with the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.
The Celtics have alternated between SU wins and losses in their last six games against the revitalized Pistons, with Detroit winners in six of its last nine games SU and a respectable 9-4 SU in 13 home games this season.
The Hawks opened the season with seven SU wins in their first eight outings but have strung together consecutive SU wins just once since, going 6-11 SU overall and 2-6 SU and ATS in their last eight on the road, including a 106-93 loss as 1.5-point favorites in a visit to Boston in mid-November.
