It’d be easy to argue Abby Wambach is bigger than the game of soccer.
The legendary player holds the U.S. record for most goals in international play with 184, which also is a world record for both men and women.
Abby Wambach is soccer. But that’s not the legacy she hopes to leave.
Her message is captured beautifully by Gatorade, which released this terrific commercial ahead of Wambach’s final game Wednesday night in New Orleans.
Wambach received a rousing standing ovation from the crowd in Team USA’s 1-0 loss. Despite her hopes, it’s not something we’ll forget any time soon.
