FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots spent Tuesday adjusting their 10-man practice squad.

The Patriots signed receiver DeAndre Carter and running back Montee Ball and cut wideout Austin Hill and defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles. They have a spot on their 53-man roster after placing defensive tackle Dominique Easley on injured reserve.

The Patriots signed Hill and Quarles to the practice squad earlier this month. It was both players’ second tenures with the Patriots.

Carter worked out for the Patriots last week. He went undrafted out of Sacramento State after running a 4.44-second 40-yard dash with a 6.64-second 3-cone, 3.80-second short shuttle, 38.5-inch vertical leap and 10-foot, 6-inch broad jump at his pro day in March.

He caught 207 passes in four years with the Hornets for 2,760 yards and 37 touchdowns. He had 99 receptions for 1,321 yards with 17 scores as a senior.

Carter and Ball join running back Trey Williams, fullback Joey Iosefa, wide receiver Chris Harper, guard Chris Barker, offensive tackles Keavon Milton and Torrian Wilson, cornerback Rashaan Melvin and free safety Brock Vereen on the Patriots’ practice squad.
