The New England Patriots began searching for a LeGarrette Blount replacement Tuesday.

The Patriots tried out running back Alonzo Harris and linebacker Kevin Snyder, a source told NESN.com. Harris, a 6-foot-1, 237-pound rookie free agentĀ out of Louisiana-Lafayette, played in six games with the Green Bay Packers this season. He had four carries for 19 yards before being waived Dec. 3.

Harris ran a 4.66-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day in March with a 7.18-second 3-cone, 4.51-second short shuttle, 36-inch vertical leap and 10-foot, 7-inch broad jump.

He carried the ball 704 times for 3,330 yards with 44 touchdowns in four seasons with the Ragin’ Cajuns. He caught 29 passes for 234 yards with another touchdown.

Harris reportedly was cut because he missed curfew for the Packers before their Week 13 win over the Detroit Lions.

Blount reportedly will be put on injured reserve after suffering a season-ending hip injury Sunday in the Patriots’ 27-6 win over the Houston Texans. The Patriots have running backs Brandon Bolden and James White on their 53-man roster and Montee Ball, Trey Williams and fullback Joey Iosefa on their practice squad.

Snyder was signed by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers this offseason. He signed to the San Francisco 49ers practice squad Nov. 24 and was cut Dec. 1.

The 6-foot-2, 238-pound linebacker ran a 4.58-second 40-yard dash with a 7.09-second 3-cone, 4.31-second short shuttle, 35-inch vertical leap and 9-foot, 9-inch broad jump at his Pro Day in March.

He recorded 229 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in four seasons with the Scarlet Knights.
