Watch out, world: Another Gronkowski soon will be on the loose in the NFL.
Glenn Gronkowski, Rob’s youngest brother, is participating in this year’s Senior Bowl and told NFL.com’s Chase Goodbread that he had a meeting scheduled with the New England Patriots on Wednesday night. So, how would Baby Gronk feel about playing with his Patriots tight end bro?
“That would be awesome,” the ex-Kansas State fullback said. “I’ve actually never played with any of my brothers before. They’ve always been too old for me. … Everyone else has played together, so to be on the same team, that would be a dream come true.”
Most Senior Bowl participants meet with every NFL team, so there’s no need to look too far into Glenn’s meeting with the Patriots for now. The Patriots could use another tight end for 2016, however.
The Patriots did house two Gronkowski brothers for five games in 2011, when Rob and fellow tight end Dan were teammates from Sept. 6 to Sept. 23 and Oct. 10 to Nov. 8. Chris Gronkowski, a fullback, played in the NFL from 2010 to 2013 though never with the Patriots.
Glenn, 22, is four years younger than Rob. He’s practicing at tight end in the Senior Bowl despite spending his three seasons with the Wildcats at fullback. He finished his college career with 15 catches for 369 yards with five touchdowns. He also had 16 rushing attempts for 51 yards with another score.
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was spotted scouting prospects at the Senior Bowl on Tuesday.
