Beast Mode is back.

The Seattle Seahawks declared Marshawn Lynch active Sunday for their NFC Divisional Playoff against the Carolina Panthers after reports Saturday said the running back would be making his return. Lynch underwent sports hernia surgery in November and hasn’t played since Seattle’s Week 10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

“(Lynch) had a great week, he really did,” head coach Pete Carroll said Friday, per the team’s website . “He was faster and more explosive this week than last week. You could see that he made an improvement.

“He’s really pumped to play football and play with his team. I’m looking forward to him playing like he has in the past. We’ll make sure to watch and see how he’s doing and how much we can play him. We’ll figure that out as the game goes.”

Lynch has averaged 4.9 yards per carry and 91.7 yards per game with nine touchdowns in 10 playoff games for the Seahawks.
