Report: Cavs Unhappy With Steph Curry’s ‘Disrespectful’ Champagne Quip

Steph Curry won’t be the toast of Cleveland anytime soon.

A joke Curry made Sunday about the lingering smell of champagne in the visitors’ dressing room at the Quicken Loans Arena reportedly didn’t go down well with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Citing sources, Cleveland.com’s Chris Haynes reported Monday that unnamed Cavaliers have taken Curry’s remark as a sign of disrespect.

The Warriors visit Cleveland on Monday for the first time since June 15 — Game 6 of the 2015 NBA Finals. The Warriors’ 105-97 victory sealed their first-ever NBA championship, and Curry and his teammates partied at The Q with requisite flying champagne.

Both teams have moved on from last summer’s clashes and are enjoying fine seasons. But one reporter’s question set up Curry for a dig opportunity even he couldn’t pass down.

Whether the Cavs’ memories are long or short, Curry and the Warriors will play against supremely motivated opponents and a hostile crowd.
