Guatemalan soccer player Marco Pappa’s final days as a Seattle Sounders player were anything but beautiful.

Police are investigating whether Miss Washington USA, Stormy Keffeler, played a role in the stabbing of Pappa last month, KING-TV in Seattle reported Thursday.

Pappa was bloody with a stab wound to the abdomen when police found him and Keffeler in an apartment in December. Pappa was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery.

Police are trying to determine what exactly happened that night, but it hasn’t been easy. A source told KING-TV that Keffeler offered different explanations. Pappa’s story reportedly changed, too.

There reportedly have been no arrests and the situation remains under investigation.

Seattle traded Pappa, 28, to the Colorado Rapids on Dec. 15 — right around the time of the incident — ending his two-year tenure with the club. Pappa previously played for the Chicago Fire, Dutch club Heerenveen and Guatemalan club Municipal. Pappa also has played 51 games for Guatemala’s national team.

Keffeler is a beauty queen and former player in the Legends Football League (former the Lingerie Football League). Miss Washington USA organizers are deciding whether to strip Keffeler of the Miss Washington USA title she won in October because she failed to disclose an April arrest on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol. This latest police investigation won’t help her.

KING-TV could not reach Pappa for comment, and the Colorado Rapids declined to comment when contacted by the television station.
