Rob Gronkowski reportedly was having his knee treated while the rest of his New England Patriots were practicing Thursday.

Gronkowski received an injection in his knee while getting treatment at a Boston hospital, a source familiar with the procedure told ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Mike Reiss.

The Patriots “believe” Gronkowski will play Saturday in their divisional-round matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs but will wait to see how he feels before kickoff, according to Schefter and Reiss.

Gronkowski was re-added to the Patriots’ injury report Wednesday. He suffered a bone bruise and knee sprain Nov. 29 against the Denver Broncos but was removed from the injury report Dec. 24. It seems Gronkowski reinjured the knee in Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported earlier Thursday that Gronkowski “should be good” to play in the Patriots’ postseason opener. Gronkowski practiced Monday and Wednesday this week but was absent Tuesday and Thursday.

Update (5:38 p.m. ET): NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport was told New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski didn’t have any injections in his knee and that the big tight end has been receiving treatment to get ready to play. So, this story remains a mystery for now.
