The Australian Open women’s final certainly appears to be a mismatch on paper, but so did last year’s U.S. Open semifinal before Roberta Vinci denied Williams’ bid at a calendar-year Grand Slam. But Williams arguably is playing even better than she did last year, as she has yet to drop a set at the Australian Open.
