Tom Brady usually is a master of reading opposing defenses, but Aqib Talib doesn’t think that was the case against the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game.

Talib said after Denver’s 20-18 win that Brady looked “rattled” throughout the game. The Broncos cornerback explained Monday at Super Bowl Opening Night why he made that assessment.

“It was sometimes that the rush wasn’t there, and he was still moving like the rush was coming,” Talib told NESN.com’s Michaela Vernava. “If somebody (does) that, I feel like that’s rattled to me.”

Talib knows a thing or two about Brady, as he played for the Patriots in 2012 and 2013. But he doesn’t think that familiarity helped him have success in the conference title game Jan. 24.

“I don’t think it did at all,” Talib said. “We played them last year, and I had a terrible game against them last year. We played them last year in New England.

“I had a terrible game, so the plan for them did nothing for me then, so I think it’s all (defensive coordinator) Wade (Phillips). Coach Wade breaks the defense down and makes it simple for you. Gives you a great game plan and lets you play fast.”

You can hear from Talib himself in the video above.
