Oh hockey, where getting your butt whooped is grounds for punching guys in the face.

The Atlantic Division-leading Florida Panthers were in the midst of pummeling the division’s second-worst team, the Buffalo Sabres, in the second period Tuesday when forward Evander Kane took exception to the lopsided score.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Kane took a stand for his team’s pride and picked a fight with Panthers defenseman Alex Petrovic, who weighs in at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds.

The first bout wasn’t enough, though, so they scrapped up again. Kane got the best of this matchup.

And, just for good measure, they went at it again, this time earning game misconducts for the third fight of the game.

Epic.

Kane even got kudos from a namesake, boxing legend Evander Holyfield, who approved of Kane’s form.

Despite Kane’s pugilistic performance, the Panthers won the game, 7-4.
