Ike Taylor spent his career playing alongside Ben Roethlisberger, winning two Super Bowls and playing in three.
He also had the difficult task of trying to contain Tom Brady, who torched Taylor’s Pittsburgh Steelers numerous times throughout his career.
The retired cornerback stopped by Radio Row and was asked if Big Ben belongs in the same class as Brady.
“Why not? The man has two Super Bowls. Lately, the past three-and-a-half, four years, his stats have gone up if you want to talk about passing yards. If you would’ve thought about Pittsburgh a few years ago, you would’ve said it’s a defensive team. Not anymore. It’s an offensive team and it’s led by Ben Roethlisberger.”
Taylor also commented on Roethlisberger’s tough-as-nails mentality, which dates back to early in the quarterback’s career.
“People forget to understand that the man got into a car accident with a motor bike and still wanted to play football. That’s rare.”
