It’s hard to handle yourself with more grace and dignity than Monty Williams did Thursday under unspeakable circumstances.

The Oklahoma City Thunder assistant coach delivered a moving eulogy to his wife, Ingrid, who died last week at the age of 44 after being involved in an automobile crash.

Ingrid and three of the Williams’ children were in the car at the time of the crash, which occurred after a speeding driver swerved into the Williams’ car and hit it head-on. The driver of the other car also was killed.

And while Monty Williams could have been bitter about the situation, he spent part of the eulogy preaching forgiveness and peace.

When you listen to Williams speak, it’s clear to see why the horrible news hit the NBA world so hard. That was evident, too, by how many prominent basketball figures attended Thursday’s service.

The full eulogy can be seen below.
