The Florida Panthers are in first place in the Atlantic Division, and general manager Dale Tallon has bolstered his roster by reportedly acquiring Calgary Flames forward Jiri Hudler for two draft picks.

Hudler will provide depth to a talented, young Panthers forward group that ranks 11th in goals scored per game and owns the third-worst power-play percentage in the NHL.

He also has 77 games of playoff experience, including two runs to the Stanley Cup Final with the Detroit Red Wings in 2008 and 2009.

The Flames still are in a rebuilding/retooling phase, and they have a decent stockpile of draft picks over the next few years.

The trade deadline is Monday at 3 p.m. ET.
