The Boston College basketball season came to a merciful end Tuesday night after the Eagles were bounced from the ACC tournament by Florida State.
The loss, BC’s 25th of the season, was a predictable finish for a miserable season. Boston College especially struggled against ACC opponents, going a borderline-unprecedented 0-18 in conference play.
Despite the inevitability of Tuesday’s season-ending defeat, ending your college career is never easy. The perfect example of that is BC center Dennis Clifford.
Clifford spoke with the media after the game, and when asked what his memories of playing at BC will be, he broke down in tears before giving one of the most depressing news conference answers anyone has ever heard.
That’s tough to watch. At least he’s got a nice Boston College education to fall back on? That should ensure plenty of good meals moving forward.
