Carmelo Anthony was at the center of a bizarre, somewhat alarming and also kind of adorable moment Monday night.
The Knicks star was taken by surprise as a young fan ran onto the court to give him a hug late in New York’s 99-91 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.
The little guy raced down the aisle and out onto the hardwood before running over and wrapping his arms around the unsuspecting Knicks swingman. Anthony understandably looked confused at first but handled the situation as well as he could have before the youngster quickly was escorted back to his seat.
Anthony still was a little puzzled about the encounter after the game.

What a weird situation. Then again, given the Knicks’ performance this season, Anthony probably will accept hugs wherever he can get one.
