The New England Patriots are bringing back special-teams ace/safety Nate Ebner, according to his agent, Sean Stellato.

Ebner, an unrestricted free agent, had agreed to terms on a two-year deal with the Patriots. Ebner had 13 tackles in 15 games last season. He has 47 tackles in four seasons after being a sixth-round draft pick out of Ohio State in 2012.

Ebner played 370 snaps on defense last season and 46 on defense at strong safety.

The Patriots also have safeties Devin McCourty, Patrick Chung, Duron Harmon, Jordan Richards, Cedric Thompson and Brock Vereen on their roster. Safety Tavon Wilson, who was drafted by the Patriots in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft, signed with the Detroit Lions as an unrestricted free agent.
