New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had his four-game suspension reinstated Monday by the U.S. Court of Appeals. After the court’s ruling came down, another Boston sports giant was asked for his take on the situation.
David Ortiz has spoken out in the past about the absurdity of Brady’s Deflategate-related ban and the Boston Red Sox designated hitter expressed his incredulity Monday over the fact that the controversy still remains unsettled 15 months after the initial story broke.
“It’s crazy,” Ortiz said after the Red Sox’s 1-0 win over the Atlanta Braves, via WEEI.com. “It’s just surprising a year later talking about the same stuff.
“When you fight eggs with a rock, the eggs never win. It’s crazy.”
The egg in this situation is expected to appeal his suspension, but many legal experts who have shared their opinion on the matter believe it has little chance of toppling the rock.
