Throwing a no-hitter always is a cause for celebration, although the fans usually do so in the stands and the players do the same on the field.

Well, usually that’s the case.

Reigning National League Cy Young winner Jake Arrieta threw his second career no-hitter Thursday night in the Chicago Cubs’ 16-0 road win over the Cincinnati Reds. And, naturally, his teammates swarmed him near the mound to celebrate his big accomplishment.

But they weren’t the only ones. A fan also joined the party, which probably wasn’t a great idea, to say the least.

He likely had plenty of time to reminisce about Arrieta’s no-hitter in lockup.

But the real story here is the different planet Arrieta continues to pitch from. He’s 15-0 in his last 16 starts with a 0.53 ERA and two no-hitters, and if you expand that to his last 24 games, he’s 20-1 with a 0.86 ERA.

The first no-hitter of the 2016 season belongs to Arrieta, and if he continues to pitch like this, it might not be his last either. Just stay in the stands if that happens next time, fans.
