Los Angeles Clippers guard Jamal Crawford won the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award for the 2015-16 season and made a bit of history in the process.

The 16-year veteran became the only player ever to win the award three times, per NBA.com, breaking a four-way tie with Kevin McHale, Ricky Pierce and Detlef Schrempf for most all time. Crawford previously won the award two seasons ago with the Clippers and in the 2009-10 season with the Atlanta Hawks. He’s the only player to win the award with two different teams.

Crawford averaged 14.2 points and 2.3 assists in 26.9 minutes per game this season and owned the second-best free-throw percentage in the NBA (90.4 percent). He also recorded 33 games with 15 or more points off the bench, third most in the NBA.

Crawford received 51 first-place votes en route to 341 total points. Golden State Warriors wing Andre Iguodala (33; 288) finished second, while Oklahoma City Thunder forward Enes Kanter (19; 182), Denver Nuggets wing Will Barton (15; 158) and Boston Celtics guard Evan Turner (3; 46) rounded out the top five.

It’s the second major award to be announced in two days. Monday, San Antonio Spurs wing Kawhi Leonard won his second consecutive NBA Defensive Player of the Year award.
