Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are the greatest quarterback-coach tandem in NFL history. But it wasn’t predestined history that the New England Patriots QB would become arguably the greatest ever to play his position. It took a bit of recognition and a leap of faith.

Belichick provided that 16 years ago to the day, as Saturday marks the anniversary of Brady being drafted by Belichick. It’s the coach’s 64th birthday.

Brady was sure to make note of the momentous occasion.

Happy birthday, Coach, and happy anniversary, Tom.
