Atletico Madrid advanced to the Champions League final after defeating Bayern Munich in a tiebreaker Tuesday.
Antoine Griezmann’s away goal in the 53rd minute of the semifinal second leg lifted Atletico Madrid to the final despite losing the game 2-1. This is the second time in three years Atletico has made the Champions League final, although it’s never won the title.
The tiebreaker victory means Atletico will play the winner of Manchester City-Real Madrid in the final on May 28th at San Siro stadium in Milan, Italy.
