This epic fail happened in the top of the ninth inning, with two outs and the home team up 8-2, begging the question: What was this fan, who was sitting in the all-inclusive Lexus Dugout Club, doing with all those free peanuts? Sneaking them out to take home? Hoping for an improbable six-run Cincinnati Reds rally for extra innings and more peanut-eating time in $1,000 seats?
Vin Scully, legendary Dodgers announcer and national treasure, surely has an answer. Or at least a great story about Duke Snider crushing 10 bags of peanuts during one at-bat, as this fan evidently hoped to do.
