Let the Summer of KD begin.

Kevin Durant’s season came to an earlier-than-expected end Monday night when his Oklahoma City Thunder lost to the Golden State Warriors 96-88 in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals after leading the best-of-seven series three games to one. The Warriors now return to the NBA Finals for a second consecutive year, while Durant is set to enter free agency for the first time in his career.

There’s still a strong chance Durant re-signs with Oklahoma City, which stunned the San Antonio Spurs in Round 2 of the playoffs before pushing the defending champs to the brink of elimination. But if he decides to take his talents elsewhere, he’ll have no shortage of suitors.

The Boston Celtics likely will be on that list, and Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas already has begun the recruitment process, tweeting (and later deleting) the following early Tuesday morning:

Which team has best chance of landing Durant? >>
