A disputed call sent Joe Mikulik into meltdown.

The Frisco Rough Riders manager went ballistic Tuesday night while arguing with umpires in his team’s 3-0 loss to the Tulsa Drillers in the Double-A Texas League. Mikulik’s eighth-inning tirade started with a few pleasantries before escalating to helmet chucking and kicking, rapid-fire verbal barbs and a couple perfectly executed slides to second base.

Naturally, umpires ejected Mikulik, whom announcers say has a reputation for passionate responses to their decisions.

Minor League Baseball’s website shared one of the great managerial meltdowns of recent times for our benefit.

Earl Weaver, who set the standard for managerial tirades for generations, would be proud of Mikulik’s antics.
